For suspension, they installed hand-tied coil springs, secured in eight directions with twine and tack nails driven one by one into the frame. Nailhead trim wasn’t punched in by machine—it was installed by hand, each one placed with care to follow the contours of the piece. Padding came from natural materials like horsehair, straw, and wool, shaped and stitched with precision. Every detail reflected hours of labor, pride, and artistry.
