Are pull-out drawers or lift-up seats better for my banquette?
It depends on your table setup and how often you need access. Lift-up seats are excellent for deep, bulky items (like seasonal decor) but require you to move the dining table and seat cushions to open them. Pull-out drawers allow for quick, everyday access without disturbing the table, though they offer slightly less internal cubic volume due to the drawer tracks.
Do the lift-up seats slam shut?
Never. We engineer our lift-up storage benches with heavy-duty gas struts and soft-close mechanisms. This ensures the heavy upholstered seat stays safely open while you are reaching inside and closes gently to protect fingers.
How do you handle the seat cushions on a storage banquette?
We typically build the seat cushion directly into the hinged wooden top so it moves as one solid piece. Alternatively, if you prefer a loose cushion look, we can upholster the hinged lid cleanly and secure the loose cushions with hidden non-slip decking or discrete ties.
