How do you get the scalloped edges so perfectly shaped?
Achieving a flawless scalloped edge by hand is extremely difficult. We eliminate the guesswork by programming your exact wave or scallop pattern into our CAD software and cutting the structural wood frame with our West Nyack CNC machinery. This guarantees mathematically perfect, symmetrical curves before the padding and upholstery process even begins.
Can you add a border or piping to the scalloped edge?
Yes. Adding contrast piping, a double-welt cord, or a tailored fabric border is a highly requested design detail for scalloped headboards. It beautifully highlights the intricate curves and adds a crisp, finished look to the silhouette.
What fabrics work best for a scalloped silhouette?
Solid colors, especially rich velvets, linens, and performance weaves, are excellent choices because they allow the unique shape of the headboard to be the focal point. If you prefer a patterned fabric, our master upholsterers will meticulously align the pattern repeat so it flows naturally with the curves without distorting the design.
