Built-In Cabinetry

Wardrobe with hanging clothes and wooden cabinetry.

Built-in cabinetry should feel like it was always part of the room — aligned with your architecture, tailored to your proportions, and engineered to work with your upholstery, lighting, and daily use. At First Class MasterCraft, we design and build custom built-ins that integrate seamlessly with wall panels, banquettes, beds, and media systems, using the same structural craftsmanship that defines our upholstery and fabrication work.

Every piece is built to order across our two in-house facilities: our Fort Lee upholstery workshop and our West Nyack CNC fabrication shop. Nothing is pre-made or imported. Each cabinet, panel, and frame is hand-built and precision-crafted by our multi-generational team.

What Built-In Cabinetry Means at First Class MasterCraft

  • Architectural alignment: Built-ins that follow your walls, ceilings, reveals, and millwork lines.
  • Integrated with upholstery: Designed to work with banquettes, beds, wall panels, and custom seating.
  • Engineered for longevity: Structural cores built from architectural-grade materials.
  • Tailored to your room: Proportions, depths, and heights tuned to your layout and use.
  • Finished as furniture: Cabinetry that feels like part of a complete interior, not just boxes on a wall.

How Built-Ins Integrate with Upholstery & Wall Panels

Our cabinetry is engineered to work as one system with your upholstery and architectural finishes. We routinely build:

  • Cabinetry that ties into upholstered wall panels and feature walls
  • Media walls that coordinate with custom sofas and seating
  • Bed wall systems combining headboards, panels, and storage
  • Banquette bases and backer panels with integrated storage and trim

Because we control both the structure and the upholstery, we can align reveals, seams, and transitions so the entire installation feels intentional and seamless.

Materials & Construction

  • Frames & Cores: Furniture-grade plywood and hardwoods engineered for stability and screw-holding strength.
  • Faces & Doors: Solid wood, veneer, or paint-grade panels matched for grain and finish quality.
  • Hardware: Soft-close hinges, full-extension slides, and integrated pulls where specified.
  • Finishes: Stains, paints, and specialty finishes coordinated with your interior palette.

Components are CNC-cut in our West Nyack facility for precision, then assembled, finished, and, where needed, upholstered in our Fort Lee workshop.

Our Built-In Cabinetry Process

Consultation & Layout Review

We start with your room dimensions, photos, and any drawings or inspiration. For designers and architects, we work directly from plans and elevations.

Design & Proportioning

We refine cabinet sizes, door and drawer layouts, panel divisions, and integration with seating, beds, or wall panels.

Engineering & Fabrication

Frames, panels, and components are engineered for strength and alignment, then CNC-cut and hand-assembled for a precise fit.

Finishing & Integration

Cabinetry is finished, detailed, and prepared for installation alongside upholstery, wall panels, or custom furniture.

Delivery & Installation

Where applicable, we provide white-glove delivery and installation, coordinating with your contractor, designer, or site schedule.
