Tufted Headboards

We specialize in the fabrication of master-crafted tufted headboards, engineered to your exact dimensions and design vision. By combining artisanal hand-tufting in our Fort Lee studio with CNC-precision framing in West Nyack, we ensure structural integrity and detailing that standard shops cannot match.

We design and fabricate tufted headboards in any height, width, or configuration—from low-profile hotel styles to dramatic, extra-tall statement walls.

 Materials, Comfort, and Detailing

Each headboard is built on a hardwood or engineered substrate, padded with high-density foam and layered batting for a smooth, tailored surface.
We work with performance fabrics, velvets, linens, leathers, and COM specified by designers and homeowners.
Nailhead trim, banding, borders, and custom stitching can be added to match your existing furniture and millwork.

Tufted Headboard FAQs

What is the difference between diamond tufting and biscuit tufting?
Diamond tufting creates a classic, diagonal pattern through deep, folded pleats, often associated with traditional Chesterfield designs. Biscuit tufting forms a square or rectangular grid, offering a cleaner, more modern geometric aesthetic. We can expertly execute either style to your exact proportions.

Do tufted headboards require buttons?
Not necessarily. While we frequently build traditional button-tufted designs, we also specialize in “blind tufting” (buttonless tufting). This technique relies on precise, deeply anchored folds in the upholstery to create the pattern, resulting in a sleek, contemporary look.

How deep is the foam padding on a tufted headboard?
The depth is entirely customized based on the style you choose. Deep diamond tufting typically requires 3 to 4 inches of high-density foam to achieve that luxurious, sculpted dimensional look. Modern shallow or biscuit tufting can be successfully engineered on a slimmer 2-inch profile.
